Arrive by train, step off, and you're in your room in five minutes. No hire car, no taxi, no half hour lost every time you arrive or leave.
Empoli is a rail hub: trains from here reach Florence in twenty-five minutes and Pisa in under an hour, and the line to Siena starts here. For a business trip, that means the traveller can arrive by train from Milan, Bologna or Rome via Florence, sleep five minutes' walk from the station and leave the next morning without ever getting into a car.
For a company watching its costs, it's one less item on the expense claim, and half an hour saved on every journey. For anyone arriving by car or van, parking in the streets around the building is free.

San Giuseppe hospital is a kilometre and a half away. Shifts that finish late and start early.
Suppliers to the industrial districts
The tanneries of the leather district are twenty kilometres away, the ceramics area ten.
