What this website does and does not do when you visit: no cookies, no analytics, no content from other services, except the booking engine on the Book page.

This is a translation of the Italian cookie policy: if the two differ, the Italian text prevails.
In short
This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and uses no analytics, profiling or advertising tools. The fonts and the map of the walk from the station are hosted on our own domain: opening the pages sends no request to Google or any other service. That is why there is no banner when you arrive: there is nothing to accept. The one exception is the Book page: once you choose a room it shows the Amenitiz booking engine, and the engine's cookies apply there, as explained below.
What we store in your browser
Nothing. Until 24 October 2026 the website also had a Google map that loaded only on request: if you opened it, your browser kept an item called “empolirooms.mappa” to remember your choice. That map is gone, and the website deletes the item on your first visit.
The route map
On the pages with the route from the station (home, Getting here, On foot from the station, Contact), the map is drawn by us from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence) and loaded from our own website together with the page: looking at it contacts no external service.
Booking bar and Amenitiz booking engine
When you open the calendar or choose dates, the bar asks our booking engine, run on our behalf by Amenitiz, which nights are free and at what price: the request carries the dates, the number of guests and your IP address, without cookies. If you open the website on a phone, the bar recognises it from your browser, without storing anything, and also asks for the prices reserved for bookings made from a phone: that is why the request carries an extra code, the same one that is then passed to the booking engine.
When you press “See available rooms”, our Book page opens with the available rooms and their prices, asked of the engine in the same way. When you choose a room and press “Book”, the page shows the booking engine (empoli-rooms.amenitiz.io) inside the website, for the rate, your details and the payment; on Safari, on iPhone and iPad and on Brave the engine opens as a full page instead. According to its cookie page, the engine uses technical cookies, needed to complete the booking, as well as analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and cookies that measure advertising campaigns, for which the engine asks for your consent in its own panel. WhatsApp and external links
The WhatsApp button and the links to Booking.com, Google Maps, Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap load nothing until you press them. When you do, you open that service’s website or app, which receives your IP address and applies its own rules. The pre-written WhatsApp message is sent only if you send it.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Netlify, which, for operation and security, logs the IP address, browser, requested page, referring page and time of each visit. How we handle this data is explained in the privacy notice.
Private area
The /admin/ page is only for us, to update the photographs: it loads the management program from unpkg.com, and signing in requires an authorised GitHub account. It is not intended for visitors.
Analytics
The website currently uses no analytics tools. If we ever turn one on, we will update this page and, if the tool is not a technical one, ask for your consent before using it.

The data controller is HOME TRAVEL SOLUTION S.r.l. a socio unico, Via Donizetti 21/2, 50053 Empoli (FI), Italy. Contacts and rights: privacy notice. You can clear this website’s data and block cookies in your browser settings at any time; on the booking engine, if you block technical cookies you may not be able to complete the booking.
